Dr. Brammer has been dedicated to the field of domestic violence advocacy since 1994, beginning her career as a victim advocate. She later expanded her expertise as a therapist, working with both victims and offenders while earning her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology at the University of Missouri. Her doctoral research and dissertation focused on batterer intervention treatment, reflecting her commitment to addressing domestic violence from multiple perspectives.
Currently serving as the Vice President of Family Violence Services at Synergy Services, Dr. Brammer oversees a range of critical programs, including the Domestic Violence Center, the Children’s Center, the Domestic Violence Housing Program, the Batterer Intervention Program, and outpatient domestic violence services. In this role, she provides leadership in program development, service delivery, and trauma-informed care.
Dr. Brammer is a recognized expert and frequent trainer on domestic violence and its intersection with child abuse and trauma. She has contributed to numerous local, state, and national committees focused on enhancing service provisions for survivors and intervention programs for offenders. Her ongoing research interests center on batterer intervention strategies and victim support services.
In addition to her leadership and research, Dr. Brammer is also an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and Park University, where she teaches courses in psychology, further shaping the next generation of mental health professionals.
