Guided Comprehensive EMDR Consultation

Our Team

JaCarie Owens LMHC – Ms. Owens  is a licensed clinical mental health counselor, living in Des Moines, IA. She is an EMDR Consultant & Basic Training Coach, and owner of Courageous Minds Counseling.  She’s a compassionate, creative and authentic consultant, who has a keen sense for holding space, bringing creativity to the EMDR world, and creating engaging learning experiences. 
JaCarie incorporates attachment focused techniques and play therapy techniques, throughout her clinical work and training, and has specialties in mind-body techniques, attachment/relationships, complex trauma, play therapy techniques, sand tray techniques and ego-state work. JaCarie has worked in a variety of settings and with a variety of populations. She began her career as an LMHC (P) working with children and adolescents in community mental health and school based settings and private practice working across the lifespan.

Generally, Ms. Owens loves to provide a “power lunch” Consultation from 11am to 1pm. She has reserved those times on Wednesdays and Fridays for you. 

April Pence LMHC – Ms. Pence is a licensed mental health counselor in private practice, located in the Orlando, FL area. 

As a certified in EMDR, an EMDR Consultant-in-Training and Basic Training Coach. April brings her expertise in connecting with you to help you deepen your learning experience.

April takes a compassionate, relational approach to all of her work, creating a safe space for learning and growing. Her approach is attachment focused, specializing in complex trauma and parts work, spiritual abuse/trauma, women’s issues and mood disorders.

Having worked in a variety of settings, April has a wide range of experience and expertise that she brings to her work. 

Generally, Ms. Pence has reserved Thursdays from 10am – 2pm to meet with you. 

Kenya Rocha, LMHC, NCC is a prominent EMDR therapist known for her specialized use of EMDR in couple and family therapy contexts. Her deep engagement with the EMDR community is evidenced by her role as a national and international Basic Trainer for Roy Kiessling’s EMDR Consulting, where she leverages her extensive understanding of the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model and EMDR’s 8 phases. As the Owner of Mosaic Family Counseling, Inc., her contributions span innovative clinical concepts and leadership, enhancing EMDR’s ethical application through education and clinical supervision.
With comprehensive expertise in systemic interactions and relationship dynamics within couples and families, Kenya’s clinical practice is enriched by her ongoing practice in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Fluent in both Spanish and English, she effectively addresses the needs of culturally diverse populations, fostering significant therapeutic advancements in EMDR and trauma treatment across individual, couple, and family settings. Her unique blend of rigorous clinical practice and dedication to education establishes her as a respected figure in the therapeutic community.

Generally, Ms. Rocha’s schedule is limited but offers as available.
