Roxanna A. Carcamo, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, licensed and practicing in the states of New York and Connecticut. She is an EMDR Certified Clinician, a Consultant-in-Training, and currently a Doctor of Social Work (DSW) Candidate. She has also completed Internal Family Systems (IFS) Level 1 training and is a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist.
Roxanna is trauma-informed and deeply committed to offering compassionate, effective, and culturally responsive mental health support. She has completed several advanced EMDR trainings focused on the treatment of complex trauma and dissociation. With extensive experience in community mental health and in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), she brings a comprehensive and integrative approach to care.
She also works as an EMDR Coach and has been working extensively to develop The Art and Heart of EMDR: Beyond the Basics Reboot, a program designed to help clinicians bridge the cultural and linguistic gaps that can inhibit progress when applying the EMDR model. Roxanna is committed to empowering clinicians to practice with cultural confidence, particularly when working with the Latinx community.
Roxanna is understanding and respectful of the profound impact trauma has on an individual’s mental, emotional, and physical well-being. As a bilingual clinician fluent in English and Spanish, she bridges language and cultural barriers, creating a therapeutic space where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and respected.
Dedicated to lifelong learning and professional development, Roxanna continues to engage in advanced trainings, consultations, and continuing education to enhance her clinical expertise and remain current with the latest research and advancements in EMDR therapy. She is also working toward her goal of becoming an EMDR Basic Trainer.
