Linda Russell, Ed.D., M.H.R., LPC-S, NCC, DCC

Linda Russell is a seasoned therapist, educator, and speaker with over 28 years of experience specializing in adoption, trauma, and attachment. As the CEO of Breakthrough Counseling and Family Preservation Outreach, she combines clinical expertise with a passion for strengthening family systems and promoting emotional wellness across the lifespan. 

Holding a doctorate in Educational Administration and a master’s degree in Human Relations with a counseling emphasis, Linda Russell is a Licensed Professional Counselor and EMDRIA-approved EMDR Trainer. Her career spans private practice, public education, and nonprofit leadership. She also serves as an expert witness in attachment-related cases and offers training for mental health professionals on trauma, family dynamics, and attachment repair.

Known for her compassionate approach and evidence-based interventions, Linda is committed to bridging gaps in understanding and treatment of developmental trauma and PTSD. She has presented nationally and authored numerous publications on adoption, trauma-informed care, and family systems.

Linda is also a mother and grandmother, bringing personal insight to her professional work with families navigating adoption, divorce, and complex relational challenges.
