Kathryn Shafer Ph.D, LCSW, ACSW, CAP, E-RYT500

Dr. Kathy Shafer is a seasoned behavioral health clinician and yoga therapist with more than 40 years of experience. She combines evidence-based therapies like EMDR, Brainspotting, and I AM Yoga Nidra with her unique “FUN(TM) talk therapy” approach (that she created) to address complex trauma, addiction, and co-occurring disorders at her private practice in Jupiter, Fla. She earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees in social work at New York University and her doctorate in social work from Barry University in Miami. Additionally, as a certified addiction professional, court appointed mediator, and Gottman Method couples therapist, Dr. Shafer offers a comprehensive approach to mind-body well-being. In addition to practicing psychotherapy as a licensed clinical social worker, she is an IAYT-certified yoga therapist and uses these trauma-informed practices with her clients and the therapists she supervises. As an author, consultant, and somatic yoga therapist, Dr. Shafer has given keynote presentations and behavioral health workshops at more than 40 conferences internationally.
