Zoey Erixon, LISW
Zoey Erixon, LISW, is a licensed social worker and practicing psychotherapist in West Des Moines, IA. She holds a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa. Prior to her career in mental health, she studied Journalism/Mass Communications and English Literature and worked in arts and event marketing. Before opening her own practice, Zoey worked for several years for House of Mercy’s residential treatment program, helping individuals heal from trauma, mental health issues, and substance use disorders. Zoey's diverse background adds to her ability to relate to clients and approach therapy in a holistic manner.
Zoey focuses on treating clients with anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, trauma, and dissociation. She also works with clients who identify as 'highly sensitive people' or 'HSP.' Zoey takes an individualized, person-centered approach to therapy and uses a range of techniques tailored to the specific needs and goals of her clients. She welcomes clients in the young adult (18-24) and adult (24+) age groups.
