EMDR & Beyond grew out of a shared passion for the healing of suffering. Through our vision of a healthier, happier, and more peaceful world, EMDR & Beyond provides training, education, consultation, and therapy to survivors of adverse experiences and those that assist them in their recovery.

Our website is a educational source for the EMDR community, with a range of EMDR topics, resources, workshops and workshop events for the EMDR clinician. Our EMDR Basic training is open to interns and practicum students at a reduced rate, as part of their educational process. We also serve as a clinical placement site for graduate students on a licensing track.

As a Relational-Cultural EMDR therapist, my goal is to help you experience true connectedness.  We will work to uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating.  While we cannot change difficult situations of the past, we can work to let go of survival strategies that no longer serve you well.  Together we can gain insights to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. If you are looking for hope after trauma or you are just ready to move in a new life direction, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.

EMDR Intensive Therapy is offered in 3 to 4 hour time blocks for individuals that would benefit from more therapy in a shorter time period.  This is often a great fit for mental health professionals seeking their own healing. An initial meeting is required to see if this type of therapy approach is the best fit for you.

Brian Ellis, LMSW of Nexus Counseling Service LLC is a trauma therapist with nearly 9 years clinical experience in human services. As a Behavioral Health Intervention Specialist (BHIS), Brian is experienced in working with adolescents and their families, addressing a variety of issues stemming from adverse life experiences. Earlier in his career, after earning his home-building diploma, Brian built homes in the construction industry when the national housing market suffered its economic collapse in 2008. This event led him to return to school to study psychology and ultimately become a therapist.

As the saying goes, 'a house is built of wood and beams but a home is built with love and dreams.' Brian went from building houses to building homes.

Brian’s passion for helping others overcome their own adverse life experiences was realized during his sixth year of working with families using cognitive therapy approaches. “I realized the impact of trauma and the reality that, for some client’s, cognitive approaches simply wouldn’t work,” explains Brian. "EMDR gives me the tools to successfully address these issues."
