Kayli Winchester, LISW

Kayli Winchester, LISW, is an independently licensed social worker with years of experience as a mental health therapist. Kayli completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Iowa in 2015 with a double major in social work and psychology. She went on to work as a case manager at Youth and Shelter Services serving at-risk and homeless youth. She continued her education in 2018 at the University of Iowa where she acquired her master’s degree in social work with an endorsement in school social work. Before opening her own private practice, Kayli worked as a school-based mental health therapist for over five years. She served multiple school districts in the Des Moines area, where she focused on her passion for working with elementary-aged children.

Kayli is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy with specialized experience in EMDR with children. She has obtained over 40 hours of training with EMDR child specialist, Ana Gomez. In addition, Kayli is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and utilizes Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, and Internal Family Systems Therapy throughout her practice.  She has since been obtaining hours of consultation to work towards an EMDR certification. Kayli aspires to become an EMDRIA-approved consultant, where she can continue to share her passion for and the benefits of EMDR therapy.

In her free time, Kayli loves spending time outdoors with family and friends, especially lounging around a pool, boating, or going for a calming walk with her Goldendoodle. Otherwise, you will find Kayli curled up on her couch with an iced coffee watching TV or cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and Kansas City Chiefs.
